# Understand tools, credits and add-ons

<Lead>
The platform consists of **tools**: self-contained instruments like the credentials vault, the appointment booking or the WhatsApp bot. This page explains how tools get into your workspace and the two models by which they are paid.

## How tools get into the workspace

<DefinitionList>
  <DefItem term="Standard tools">
    The credentials vault, Files and the Assistant are included in every plan and pre-installed. They cannot be uninstalled because central workspace functions build on them.
  </DefItem>
  <DefItem term="Marketplace tools">
    All other tools are activated in the marketplace or under Settings > Tools. Inactive tools are invisible to your team and cause no costs.
  </DefItem>
  <DefItem term="Minimum plan and trial">
    Some tools require a certain plan (for example the website tool from Standard upwards). Tools with public long-lived links (appointment booking, website, WhatsApp bot) are deliberately excluded from the trial: links that would die after 14 days cost trust with your clients. The free trial is available once per person: if it has already been used with the same e-mail address or the same payment method, the new workspace starts directly on the chosen plan. Nothing is charged in that case until you have confirmed the plan.

An overview of all tools with short descriptions lives in the [marketplace listings](/marketplace).

## Model 1: credits by usage

AI features (for example homestaging images or assistant replies) consume credits based on actual usage. The rules:

- Every credit-consuming run is first reserved, then executed, then settled. On any technical error the credits are refunded automatically.
- You do not see small amounts (below 10 credits) by default: buttons name the action, not the price. You can show them under Account > Appearance.
- Business features without AI (appointments, credentials, files) cost no credits.

How much balance your plan includes and how to buy more: [Understand and top up credits](/help/howto/topup-credits).

## Model 2: monthly add-ons

Tools whose core feature has unpredictable AI effort per run (for example the DB-Leads scan across thousands of contacts, or the WhatsApp bot) run as **monthly add-ons**:

- The add-on price includes a fixed quota of core runs, for example full scans per month.
- The limit applies **when a run starts**. A started run is never stopped midway because of credits or quota.
- Smaller single actions of the same tool (say, one AI briefing) still run normally on credits.

<Info title="Prices in progress">
Some add-on prices are not final yet. The marketplace then shows "add-on, price to follow"; until the pricing decision the add-on is included in the plan.

## Frequently asked questions

<Faq>
  <FaqItem q="What happens when I deactivate a tool?">
    It disappears from your team's interface and stops causing costs. Your data is preserved; real deletion is always a separate, explicit step.
  </FaqItem>
  <FaqItem q="Does everyone on the team see the same tools?">
    Everyone sees the activated tools, but what each person may do inside them is set by role and tool permissions. Basics: [Workspace and roles](/help/grundlagen/workspace-und-rollen).
  </FaqItem>
  <FaqItem q="Why does a button not show a credit price?">
    Amounts below 10 credits are deliberately hidden; billing is always correct. You can see your consumption any time under Settings > Credits.
