# A tool is not visible

## Symptom

A tool you want to use does not appear in your workspace's tool overview. Or it shows up in the marketplace but cannot be activated (the button is missing or a notice mentions a plan).

## Step 1: Is the tool activated at all?

Only activated tools are visible to your team. Open the **marketplace** in the platform and find the tool:

1. If there is an activate button, the tool simply is not installed yet. Activate it; it then appears immediately under **Tools** and on the dashboard.
2. Under **Settings > Tools** you can see all installed tools with their settings pages.

Activating and deactivating requires the marketplace permission (owner and admins by default). If you lack it, ask an admin of your workspace.

## Step 2: Does your plan allow the tool?

Some tools require a minimum plan. The marketplace states this openly, for example with a notice naming the plan that includes the tool. In that case only a plan change under **Settings > Billing** helps (owner only).

## Step 3: Are you in the trial phase?

Tools with permanent public links (appointment booking, website, WhatsApp bot) are deliberately **not included in the trial phase**: links that would die when the trial ends cost trust with your clients. These tools become available with the first paid plan.

## Step 4: May your role use the tool?

An activated tool is visible to everyone, but what you see and may do inside it is determined by role and tool permissions:

- **Viewers** read results but do not start tool runs.
- Individual areas of a tool can additionally be restricted by permission. The interface then hides buttons or whole sections; the server checks the same rights again.

## Known causes

| Trial phase | Booking, website or WhatsApp bot cannot be activated | Choose the first paid plan |
| Missing marketplace permission | No activate button despite a fitting plan | Ask an admin to activate |
| Viewer role | Tool visible, actions missing | Have an admin adjust the role |
| Add-on not booked | Tool requires a monthly add-on | Book the add-on in the marketplace |

By the way: the dashboard shows only tools you have already opened under "Recently used". A tool missing there is not gone; the complete list always lives under **Tools**.
