The file store's search works like a Spotlight: type, see matches, open. It finds names instantly and, for longer queries, also searches inside your documents.
Opening it
A search field sits above the file list: click it or simply start typing, and search opens carrying what you typed. The same is reachable with Cmd/Ctrl + K from anywhere in the file store, or via the search button in the sidebar. Matches appear as you type, with folder path and type icon.
Filters
Below the search field you narrow the matches with chips:
- Type: images, documents, videos, audio, archives, folders (Bilder, Dokumente, Videos, Audio, Archive, Ordner)
- Favourites: starred entries only
- "only " (nur ): limits the search to the folder you are currently in
- Time range: all, 7 days, 30 days, this year (Alle, 7 Tage, 30 Tage, Dieses Jahr)
Content matches
If you ask in plain words instead of a file name, search additionally shows the group content matches (Inhaltliche Treffer): documents whose content fits the query, with the matching passage as an excerpt. The processing runs in the background and costs no credits. The platform assistant uses this search too, and only finds what the person asking is allowed to see.
Keyboard
- ↑ ↓ move the selection through the matches.
- Enter opens the preview right where the file lives.
- Cmd/Ctrl + Enter jumps to the folder of the match.
- Esc closes the search.
- Load more (Mehr laden) at the end of the list fetches further matches.
When there is nothing to show, search reports: "Keine Treffer. Andere Suchbegriffe oder Filter probieren." (No matches; try other terms or filters.)
Limits
- Search respects access rights: restricted folders you may not see and other people's private areas never appear in the results.
- The trash is never searched. What you suspect there, you find directly in the trash area.
